Uzbekistan wins 131 medals of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Athletes from Uzbekistan clinched 131 medals of the Fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which took place in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) on 16-27 September.

Uzbekistan won 24 gold, 33 silver and 74 bronze medals of the Asian Games and took the second place on total number of claimed medals after hosts Turkmenistan (245 medals).

In general medal classification, Uzbekistan was the fifth after Turkmenistan (89, 70, 86 - 245), China (42, 32, 23 - 97), Iran (36, 53, 29 - 118) and Kazakhstan (28, 28, 40 - 96).

Uzbekistan team won medals in such sports as national Turkmen wrestling and jujitsu, classic wrestling, athletics, belbogli kurash, taekwondo, tennis, sambo, Uzbek kurash, basketball 3х3, muaytai, swimming, weightlifting, chess, kickboxing, wrestling and etc.
