Uzbek Men's Boxing Team Takes First Place at World Cup in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The prestigious Boxing World Cup competitions have concluded in the Chinese city of Guiyang. The national team of Uzbekistan demonstrated a high level of preparation at the tournament, winning a total of 12 medals of various denominations.

In the men's standings, the Uzbekistan team traditionally confirmed its status as a leader in world boxing. The men's team took first place in the final protocol, winning three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Second place in the men's rankings was claimed by the team from Kazakhstan, which secured three gold and three bronze medals. The French team rounded out the top three.

In the overall team standings, which include both men's and women's results, the hosts of the ring—the Chinese team—finished in first place, winning five gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Second place went to the team from Kazakhstan with five gold and three bronze medals. The Uzbekistan team rounded out the top three teams on the planet, possessing four gold, three silver, and four bronze medals in its tally.

The gold medalists of the World Cup were Abdumalik Khalokov (weight category up to 60 kg), Turabek Khabibullaev (up to 90 kg), Javokhir Ummataliev (up to 80 kg), and Nigina Uktamova (up to 57 kg).

Silver medals were won by Asilbek Jalilov (up to 50 kg), Farzona Fozilova (up to 48 kg), and Oltinoy Sotimboeva (in the category over 80 kg).

The bronze medalists of the competition were Akmaljon Isroilov (up to 85 kg), Arman Makhanov (over 90 kg), Sitora Turdibekova (up to 60 kg), and Aziza Zokirova (up to 75 kg).
