Shavkat Mirziyoyev Discusses Reforms with Tony Blair

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair, who currently heads the Institute for Global Change.

During the official meeting, the parties reviewed in detail a range of issues related to the further development and deepening of practical interaction. The main emphasis in the talks was placed on organizing systematic expert and analytical support for the large-scale socio-economic reforms being implemented by the government of the republic.

Within the framework of the dialogue, Tony Blair expressed high appreciation for the consistency, depth, and geographical scope of the transformations carried out under the long-term strategy of building a New Uzbekistan. The British politician and international expert separately highlighted the high practical significance of the recently concluded Tashkent International Investment Forum. According to him, this event has established itself as an authoritative and effective international platform contributing to the qualitative growth of the state's investment attractiveness, the strengthening of direct business contacts, and the launch of promising interregional initiatives.

Following the meeting, the officials outlined key priorities for forming a roadmap for further bilateral cooperation. The main vectors of joint work included expert support and the implementation of investment projects in baseline sectors of the national economy, building effective mechanisms to attract leading transnational technological companies to the domestic market, as well as assistance to large strategic investors.

Accelerating the processes of comprehensive digital transformation in the public and real sectors of the economy, with the integration of advanced innovative solutions, was identified as an additional priority area.
