Uzbekistan starts its campaign in World Chess Olympiad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan national team started World Chess Olympiad in Tromsø (Norway) with victories, Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee said.

Uzbekistan’s men team defeated Cyprus with the score 3.5-0.5 despite leader of the team Rustam Kasimdjonov did not play in the first round. In the second match, Uzbekistan clinched a 2.5-1.5 victory over Denmark.

Uzbekistan’s women team clinched a 4-0 victory over Honduras and next round played a 2-2 draw with Latvia.

Uzbekistan’s men team will face Brazil in third round, while women’s will play against Serbia.
