Uzbekistan small business power generation jumps 35.2%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Total electricity generation in Uzbekistan reached 52,504.4 million kWh in January–July 2026, a 6.4% increase compared to 49,344.4 million kWh recorded during the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The structure of electricity generation shifted during the period. Output by large enterprises declined by 3.6% to 35,250.6 million kWh, down from 36,577.7 million kWh a year earlier. Conversely, electricity produced by small businesses grew by 35.2% to 17,253.8 million kWh from 12,766.7 million kWh, reflecting the growing role of small enterprises in the country's energy sector.

Thermal energy production by large enterprises in January–July 2026 fell by 18.3% to 10,117.6 thousand Gcal compared to 12,387.8 thousand Gcal in the corresponding period of last year.
