Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Serbia have signed a document on cooperation in occupational safety and health during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Serbia.

The agreement is aimed at further developing cooperation between the two countries and creating additional opportunities to improve workplace safety, protect workers’ lives and health, exchange experience and introduce modern approaches to occupational safety.

One of the key areas of cooperation will be ensuring safe and healthy working conditions.

The sides also intend to focus on improving occupational safety systems and preventing workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

Particular importance will be attached to studying international experience and modern methods of ensuring workplace safety, followed by the practical application of the most effective approaches.

For Uzbekistan’s State Labor Inspectorate, international cooperation in this area is important for improving mechanisms to monitor compliance and prevent violations of occupational safety and health requirements.

The exchange of experience with foreign partners will help study existing approaches and assess opportunities for their implementation in Uzbekistan.

Protecting the lives and health of workers is among the priorities of Uzbekistan’s state labor policy.
