BYD car production in Uzbekistan doubles in Jan–Jul 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Passenger car production in Uzbekistan reached 263,731 units in January–July 2026, marking a 9.4% increase compared to 241,109 units recorded during the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Output of specialized passenger cars rose by 12.1% to 32,445 units, up from 28,953 units a year earlier.

Among individual models, Cobalt recorded the highest production volume at 91,140 units compared to 83,167 units previously, representing a 9.6% increase. The most notable growth was shown by BYD models, with production more than doubling by 106.6% to reach 17,765 units, up from 8,601 units in January–July 2025.

Substantial growth was also recorded for several other models. KIA production increased by 18.8% to 17,125 units from 14,419 units, while Haval output rose by 30.6% to 5,778 units compared to 4,425 units. Onix production grew by 9.1% to 20,445 units from 18,734 units.

Conversely, output for certain models declined. Damas production dropped by 7.9% to 47,521 units compared to 51,587 units a year earlier. Tracker output fell by 2.3% to 25,779 units from 26,385 units, while Chery production decreased by 0.8% to 4,801 units from 4,838 units.

Additionally, the statistics agency noted the launch of the Chevrolet Damas Move model, with 932 units produced during the January–July period.
