Uzbekistan Seeks to Expand Visa-Free Travel for Citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a month-long initiative titled "Current Visa" aimed at expanding international travel opportunities for the country's citizens.

The initiative is being implemented as part of the objectives set out in the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the month, Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad will intensify negotiations with foreign partners on expanding visa-free travel, simplifying visa procedures and introducing modern visa mechanisms.

The main focus will be on concluding agreements on visa-free travel for Uzbek citizens, expanding the use of electronic visas and developing other simplified entry document procedures.

The Foreign Ministry said the initiative is intended to create more favorable conditions for citizens traveling abroad, expand opportunities for international mobility and support the country's continued open and active foreign policy.
