Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a trilateral working meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of DataVolt, Rajit Nanda, and the Sales Director of Oracle Cloud for Central Asia, Central Europe, and the Balkans, Cristian Obando.
The primary focus of the extensive negotiations was the strategic development of the modern digital ecosystem of Uzbekistan and strengthening the country's position as a leading technological hub in the Central Asian region.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed in detail the prospects for a long-term partnership aimed at designing and constructing large data centers, as well as accelerating the implementation of advanced cloud solutions. The participants exchanged views on mechanisms to integrate Oracle platforms and DataVolt infrastructure capacity to meet the needs of the public sector and private businesses.
Special attention was given to technical and organizational aspects, including providing future data centers with uninterrupted electrical energy, ensuring strict compliance with information security requirements, and meeting rigorous international standards for the facilities under construction.
The parties also raised questions regarding attracting new transnational IT investors to the country and creating high-paying jobs for domestic specialists.
The main practical result of the negotiations was the signing of a trilateral memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Digital Technologies, DataVolt, and Oracle Corporation.
The framework document regulates joint activities to deploy a secure, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
The memorandum also provides for the deep digital transformation of public services, the formation of an innovative network of technological sites, and the systemic integration of Uzbek specialists into international high-tech projects.
