Uzbekistan, Oman Discuss New Investment Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by Minister of Economy Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, who arrived in Tashkent to take part in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
At the start of the meeting, the Omani minister conveyed greetings to the Uzbek leader from Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
During the talks, the parties discussed the further development of trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation. They noted the strengthening of bilateral contacts and growth in trade turnover between the two countries.
Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint projects involving the Uzbek-Oman Investment Company. It was also reported that direct flights between Tashkent and Muscat will begin operating from next month.
The parties agreed to hold the next session of the joint Intergovernmental Commission this year in the capital of Oman.
Among the priority areas for further cooperation are projects in transport, logistics, geology, e-commerce, digital infrastructure and other sectors of the economy.
