Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Iran have agreed to further develop cooperation in agriculture, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said.
A meeting of the joint working group of the two countries was held in Tashkent as part of the Uzbek-Iranian Agricultural Business Forum. The event was attended by Sherzod Ibragimov, deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Participants discussed bringing cooperation in agriculture to a new stage, systematically developing existing ties and identifying priority areas for further cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to developing a long-term cooperation program, implementing mutually beneficial projects and expanding contacts between business representatives of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture signed a protocol of the working group meeting.
In addition, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of agricultural cooperation.
