Uzbekistan Introduces QR Code for Business Inspections
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has introduced a new procedure for registering regulatory inspections of businesses using QR codes and the digital platform “Unified State Control,” aimed at increasing transparency and limiting unlawful interference in entrepreneurial activity.
The relevant decree was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Starting from 1 August, the use of the “Unified State Control” mobile application will become mandatory for government officials when interacting with businesses. This requirement applies both to conducting inspections and to official meetings with business representatives.
Under the document, paper-based inspection authorization certificates are being abolished. Instead, such documents will be available in digital form through the system.
The practice of maintaining an electronic inspection logbook is also being discontinued. All control activities will now be registered by scanning a special QR code called “Biznes Himoya” (“Business Protection”), allowing real-time digital recording of all inspection actions.
If an official fails to register an inspection via the QR system, entrepreneurs will have the right to deny access to their premises. Similarly, businesses may refuse to participate in meetings that are not recorded in the system.
It is also noted that from 1 July, a personal account in the “Unified State Control” system will be automatically created for all newly registered enterprises.
