Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Competition Development and Consumer Protection Committee has opened a case over a possible violation of competition law in a tender for the purchase of 475 seismic sensor sets with an initial value of 5.7 billion soums.

The review was launched following the publication of a social media article titled "One Address, Shared History and a Multi-Billion Tender," the committee said.

According to the committee, the Republican Center for Seismic Forecast Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the tender for the procurement of seismic sensors on 4 August 2026.

Following its review, the committee said it had identified signs of non-compliance with Article 29 of Uzbekistan's Law on Competition by the Republican Center for Seismic Forecast Monitoring, Drilltechpro LLC and Edulab LLC. According to the committee, the actions of the parties involved in the procurement process may have restricted or led to the restriction of competition.

In light of the findings, the committee has formally opened a case against the Republican Center for Seismic Forecast Monitoring, Drilltechpro LLC and Edulab LLC.

The committee said additional information will be released after the case has been reviewed.
