Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Tashkent region delegation led by regional governor Zoyir Mirzayev held a series of meetings with representatives of government bodies, industry associations and major companies during a working visit to China, the Tashkent region administration's press service said.
The two sides discussed attracting investment, launching new production facilities, localising modern technologies and expanding industrial cooperation.
One of the key events was a Uzbekistan (Tashkent region) — China (Tianjin) business forum that brought together more than 300 entrepreneurs from the two countries. Participants presented the Tashkent region's investment and export potential, its production base, transport and logistics capabilities and conditions for investors.
Particular attention was given to creating high value-added production, deepening localisation and increasing the number of export-oriented projects. Talks with Chinese companies and business representatives were held in G2B and B2B formats and covered industry, investment, transport logistics, furniture production and modern construction. Three documents were signed following the meetings.
In Tianjin, the delegation also visited the Nangang Chemical industrial zone, where it reviewed the placement of production enterprises, engineering and logistics infrastructure and conditions for investors. The zone brings together projects in the chemical, petrochemical, energy and other sectors.
During talks with the administration of the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and representatives of Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group, Sinopec (Tianjin) Petrochemical Company, Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) and Tianjin NEWSOLAR, the two sides discussed the chemical and petrochemical industry, the creation of new capacities, modern technologies, renewable energy and investment cooperation.
A separate meeting was held between Zoyir Mirzayev and Liu Xue, deputy chairman of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and secretary of the Wuqing district committee. The two sides examined expanding direct interregional ties, increasing trade and investment projects, developing industrial cooperation and exchanging technology and experience.
In Hangzhou, the delegation reviewed the operations of Hangzhou COCO Healthcare Products, a manufacturer of personal hygiene and medical products. The company has operated since 2001, holds a licence to produce medical devices and uses a digital system that integrates research, production, quality control, warehousing and logistics processes.
The two sides discussed the possibility of localising the production of adult and child hygiene products, medical care products and automated technologies in the Tashkent region. The possibility of the company's products entering Central Asian markets was also considered.
An investment forum was also held in Hangzhou with the participation of Chinese manufacturing companies Goldpro New Materials, Hangzhou Cable, Hangzhou COCO Healthcare Products, Hangzhou Oxygen Plant Group and Sicher Elevator. The talks covered the localisation of production of wear-resistant steel products, high-voltage cables and optical communications products, industrial and special gases, air separation equipment and energy technologies.
Following the forum, Goldpro New Materials WZ LLC signed an agreement with the foreign enterprise Holley — Holtas Industrial Estate to join the industrial park. Agreements on further cooperation were reached with a number of other companies.
In Changsha, Tashkent region representatives held talks with Sansure Biotech Inc., which works in the field of gene technology and molecular diagnostics. They discussed the localisation of diagnostic product manufacturing, the introduction of PCR and rapid testing systems, and joint projects for the early detection of infectious and oncological diseases.
Sansure Biotech was founded in 2008, and its solutions are used in more than 160 countries and territories. The delegation also reviewed the company's production and technological areas of activity.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with representatives of the China Animal Agriculture Association. The two sides examined the development of the livestock sector, the introduction of modern technologies, investment projects and the exchange of international experience.
The association, founded in 2001, organises industry exhibitions, business education, international cooperation, information exchange and consulting activities. The China Animal Husbandry Expo, which it has held since 2003, is among Asia's largest industry events.
The Tashkent region delegation also met with representatives of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA). The talks centred on supporting Chinese companies' entry into foreign markets, attracting foreign investment, implementing new projects and developing cooperation within the Belt and Road initiative.
Following the meetings, the two sides discussed the possibilities of launching investment projects in the Tashkent region and further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The talks held in various Chinese cities were aimed at identifying concrete areas of interaction with Chinese partners, from industry, energy and the chemical sector to medicine, livestock farming and consumer goods production.
The agreements reached provide for further elaboration of investment projects, localisation of production, the introduction of modern technologies and the expansion of economic ties between the Tashkent region and Chinese regions and companies.
