Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mansurbek Olloyorov, director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan, met World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Naji Benhasine on 16 September 2026, the National Agency for Social Protection said.
The two sides discussed the implementation of reforms in the social protection sphere and joint projects.
The focus was on initiatives implemented with World Bank support, including improving the Unified Social Register, the adoption of the laws "On Social Insurance" and "On Social Work", and the implementation of the INSON project.
Within the framework of the project, the two sides examined the equipping of social service centres, the construction of inclusive schools and housing for socially vulnerable categories of the population.
Preparation for the World Summit "Investing in Children's Wellbeing: Towards Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations", which is planned to be held in Samarkand, was discussed separately.
The two sides also examined the implementation of the JSDF project, joint initiatives in the field of adaptive social protection and preparations for holding the South-South IX forum in Uzbekistan in March 2027.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on jointly visiting facilities created under the relevant project in order to further expand cooperation in the social protection sphere.
