Uzbekistan, US Pharmacopeia Discuss Pharmaceutical Industry Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry held an online meeting with representatives of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) to discuss strengthening the scientific and professional capacity of the pharmaceutical industry, the agency said.

One of the key areas of the meeting was strengthening human resources and expanding the exchange of professional expertise. Participants considered the possibility of sending Uzbek scientists and specialists to leading USP laboratories and other facilities.

The proposed format is expected to provide Uzbek specialists with practical experience and help them improve their professional qualifications.

Particular attention was paid to the potential participation of USP experts in the laboratory and research infrastructure being developed in Uzbekistan. The sides also discussed practical training sessions and experience-sharing programs involving USP specialists.

The participants further considered the possibility of applying advanced international approaches developed by USP in the design and equipping of modern laboratories and research centers being established in Uzbekistan.

The discussions were aimed at further developing professional competencies, expanding practical cooperation with international specialists and using USP expertise in building modern research infrastructure for Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry.
