Uzbekistan introduces excise tax for mini-pickups

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Government of Uzbekistan introduced an excise tax for imported mini-pickups from 1 January 2016.

The excise tax at the rate of 70% of the cost of the product was introduced to imported mini-pickups with the tonnage up to 5 tonnes, Sputnik agency reported.

Before, the mini-pickups levied only with import customs duty at the rate of 30% and VAT.

Currently, there are also excise tax at the size of 70% and import duties at the size of 30% for imported trucks.

GM Uzbekistan launched a serial production of mini-pickups Chevrolet Labo. The production of Labo was launched in Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. Its capacities make up 5,000 vehicles a year.
