Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Ilzat Kasimov, met with Yu Yang, Chief Executive Officer of China's JAC Motors, on 15 July to discuss the further development of joint vehicle production in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the sides noted that the launch of the JAC Motors plant in the Yangi Avlod Special Industrial Zone in May 2026 marked an important milestone in the development of Uzbekistan's modern automotive industry and the expansion of industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.

Particular attention was given to the next phase of the project. The parties discussed plans to accelerate the plant's transition from SKD assembly to CKD production as early as next year.

They also reviewed measures to deepen production localization, expand the plant's export potential, and introduce advanced technologies.
