Uzbekistan Import Truck Freight Surges Sharply in Q1

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The volume of import road freight transportation to Uzbekistan has shown steady growth and is outpacing export-related logistics flows, according to a report by the logistics platform ATI.SU.

The data shows that in the first quarter of 2026, the number of shipment requests for cargo deliveries to Uzbekistan from other countries increased by 72% compared to the same period in 2025. Compared to the previous quarter (October–December), the growth amounted to 56%.

The most significant dynamics were recorded on several key routes. The number of orders from Russia increased by 80%, while shipments from Belarus doubled. At the same time, a slight decline was observed in demand for transport services from Kazakhstan, although the overall volume on this route remains relatively small.

In the export segment, growth was more moderate. The number of requests for outbound shipments from Uzbekistan increased by only 10% year-on-year, while compared to the end of 2025 a decline of more than one-third was recorded. ATI.SU notes that the slowdown is only partially explained by seasonal factors.

Export shipments to Russia continue to dominate, increasing by 8% compared to the previous year.

Growth was also recorded in shipments to Belarus and Kazakhstan.

At the same time, domestic logistics activity has strengthened significantly. The number of internal transport requests tripled year-on-year and increased by almost 50% compared to the previous quarter. According to the platform, this reflects both rising real demand and broader adoption of digital logistics tools.

ATI.SU representative Farid Vakhidov noted that the slowdown in dynamics is mainly observed in the export segment, particularly on the Russian route, where the trend began forming last year. He added that demand is being affected by congestion at the Russia–Kazakhstan border and tighter customs controls.

The report also states that in the third quarter of 2025, the number of shipment requests from Uzbekistan to Russia fell by 38% compared to the second quarter.

Declines in demand for deliveries to Kazakhstan and Belarus were also recorded.
