Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — From 29 to 30 April 2025, a government delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, paid a business visit to Urumqi (People's Republic of China).
During the visit, a meeting was held between the two delegations, with Uzbekistan represented by the Prime Minister and China by Ma Xinyu, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang.
At the beginning of the meeting, sincere greetings and best wishes were conveyed from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President of China Xi Jinping and the Secretary of the Xinjiang Party Committee.
The discussions emphasized that China is a reliable strategic partner for Uzbekistan, with bilateral relations continuing to strengthen. Cooperation between the two countries has reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership across various fields.
Special attention was given to the fact that the trust and sincere relationship between the leaders of the two countries play a crucial role in the development of bilateral cooperation.
The sides discussed expanding trade-economic, investment, and technological cooperation, as well as implementing new projects in infrastructure, industrial cooperation, agriculture, and green energy.
Regarding trade figures, it was noted that the trade turnover last year exceeded $13 billion, and with the necessary conditions in place, the goal of reaching $20 billion, set by the leaders of both countries, is achievable.
The parties also considered expanding multilateral cooperation in such sectors as trade and industry, transport logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, and education.
