Uzbekistan Finds Nearly 1,500 Cases of Fake Employment Records

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — In the first half of 2026, the State Labour Inspectorate under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction received 1,495 appeals from citizens who said they had been registered as employees without their consent. Following reviews of the complaints, administrative and criminal measures were taken against the heads of 143 operating enterprises and organizations.

The ministry’s press service said that written orders to eliminate identified violations were also issued to 56 enterprises.

During inspections, the inspectorate found that some organizations mentioned in citizens’ complaints had since been liquidated. In such cases, inaccurate employment records entered into the Unified National Labour System between 2020 and 2025 were removed, allowing citizens’ rights to be restored.

The State Labour Inspectorate reminded citizens that those who discover employment records registered without their personal consent can contact the agency through the short number 1176 or via the official Telegram bot @munosibmehnat_bot.

The agency emphasized that each appeal is reviewed in accordance with legal requirements, after which the necessary response measures are taken.
