Shomurodov Goal Nominated for Best Goal at 2026 World Cup

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan forward Eldor Shomurodov's goal against the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been nominated for the best goal of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by FIFA.

The international football governing body included the goal among the tournament's 12 best goals. The winner will be determined through a public vote, which will remain open for 48 hours.

Shomurodov's goal was previously named the best goal of the World Cup group stage. It is now competing for FIFA's overall award for the tournament's best goal.
