The international football governing body included the goal among the tournament's 12 best goals. The winner will be determined through a public vote, which will remain open for 48 hours.

Shomurodov's goal was previously named the best goal of the World Cup group stage. It is now competing for FIFA's overall award for the tournament's best goal.
