Uzbekistan, ETF Discuss Labour Market Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held at the Ministry for Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan jointly with the European Training Foundation (ETF) within the framework of the DARYA project, focusing on labour market development and competency systems.
The discussion was attended by DARYA project lead Eva Jansova, Deputy Head of the Competency Development and Qualification Assessment Department K. Odinaev, Director of the Institute for Poverty and Labour Market Research D. Karimov, and representatives of relevant departments.
The parties reviewed the results of ongoing cooperation and discussed priority areas for 2026.
Particular attention was given to the development of professional competencies, improvement of qualification assessment systems, implementation of international experience, workforce training aligned with labour market demands, and expansion of employment opportunities.
The sides also discussed proposals to strengthen labour market monitoring, update methodological approaches to research, and improve systems for forecasting workforce needs.
Both parties confirmed their intention to continue cooperation within the framework of joint initiatives.
