Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Vice President of Finnish telecommunications company Elisa, Andrei Nahkala. Elisa is one of the leading operators in telecommunications and digital services.
During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for cooperation in developing telecommunications infrastructure, the large-scale deployment of 5G technologies, and digital services based on artificial intelligence.
Particular attention was given to the automation of telecom networks, improving infrastructure management efficiency using AI, as well as fraud prevention and modernization of digital systems.
The parties also considered opportunities to develop a regional telecommunications and digital technologies hub involving IT specialists from Uzbekistan.
Discussions further covered the introduction of digital solutions in areas such as industrial IoT, smart infrastructure, data centers, and logistics, as well as the expansion of fiber-optic and 5G networks across Central Asia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and artificial intelligence, as well as in implementing joint projects and exchanging experience.
