Uzbekistan and LS Cable & System Discuss Electrical Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and South Korean company LS Cable & System have discussed prospects for cooperation in the electrical engineering industry, including the production of modern cable products, technology transfer, and production localization.

The meeting took place during a working visit by an Uzbek delegation to the Republic of Korea, featuring M. Yunusov, Chairman of the Uzeltexsanoat Association, B. Abidov, an official from the Cabinet of Ministers, and representatives of LS Cable & System Ltd.

The Uzbek delegation presented information on the country's electrical engineering industry potential and investment opportunities. Participants discussed potential avenues of cooperation in cable manufacturing, technology transfer, and localization.

Founded in 1962, LS Cable & System is one of South Korea's largest cable manufacturers. The company produces high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and submarine cables, high-voltage power cables, telecommunication solutions, and cabling systems for the renewable energy sector.

According to the presented information, the company generates about US$4.5 billion in annual revenue and supplies its products to global markets.

Following the meeting, both parties expressed interest in further developing cooperation and implementing prospective projects in the electrical engineering sector.
