Corn Processing Facility Planned for Uzbekistan's Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov discussed the implementation of an investment project for deep corn processing in the Jizzakh region with Yunbing Du, Deputy General Director of Chinese company Henan Bioindustry Group Co. LTD, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The sides reviewed the current status of the project and issues surrounding its transition to practical implementation. Special attention was paid to creating the necessary engineering and communications infrastructure, logistics capabilities, and prospects for product sales in domestic and foreign markets.

The project provides for the construction of a modern production complex for manufacturing sugar from corn in the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region.

During the meeting, discussions also covered securing a stable raw material base for the enterprise, creating new jobs, and developing deep processing of agricultural products. The sides examined mechanisms for supplying finished products to the domestic market and their subsequent export.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to execute the project within the established timeframe, continue expanding mutual cooperation, and jointly resolve emerging organizational issues.

As noted during the meeting, the project aims to expand deep processing of agricultural products, create high value-added chains, enhance the investment attractiveness of the region, and modernize the agro-industrial sector.
