Uzbekistan and KEXIM Discuss $3.6 Billion Project Portfolio
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Shohrukh Gulamov met with representatives of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) to discuss the current status and prospects of cooperation under the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), as well as the implementation of joint projects.
During the meeting, it was noted that KEXIM's project portfolio in Uzbekistan includes 27 initiatives with a total value of US$3.6 billion. Of these, nine projects worth US$366.6 million have already been implemented, ten projects valued at US$1.08 billion are under implementation, and another eight projects worth US$2.19 billion are currently under development.
The parties confirmed that the preparation and implementation of projects funded under the EDCF are carried out in accordance with existing intergovernmental mechanisms and established procedures of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
Special attention was paid to procurement procedures. It was noted that the selection of consultants, contractors, and suppliers is conducted based on the principles of transparency, fairness, and open competition.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue information exchange and practical interaction on the implementation of joint projects.
