Uzbekistan and Latvia Discuss Labor Migration Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Uzbekistan Girts Jaunzems.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration.

Special attention was given to accelerating the signing of an intergovernmental agreement and expanding channels for organized labor migration between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing regular dialogue and agreed on further steps to strengthen cooperation in this area.
