Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Health Asilbek Khudayarov held a meeting with a delegation from Kazakhstan led by Alexey Tsoy, head of the medical center of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
The visit aims to further strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the two countries in the field of healthcare.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, also participated in the meeting.
Before the talks, the Kazakh delegation visited the Central Consulting and Diagnostic Polyclinic No. 1 of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, both sides noted the dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation in healthcare between the two countries. Over 100 Kazakh citizens are currently studying at medical universities in Uzbekistan.
Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, a joint educational program between the Bukhara State Medical Institute and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been launched.
It has also become a good tradition to hold master classes and demonstrate surgical operations with the participation of Kazakh specialists at medical institutions in Uzbekistan.
Asilbek Khudayarov proposed several initiatives for further developing cooperation in this field.
Alexey Tsoy shared the experience of implementing management systems at the medical center he heads, highlighting its contribution to improving the competitiveness of the public healthcare sector, developing human resources, and enhancing treatment outcomes.
During their visit, the Kazakh delegation also plans to visit a number of leading medical institutions in Uzbekistan, including the Tashkent Medical Academy, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov, the National Children’s Medical Center, and the new Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Oncology and Radiology.
