Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Region plans to develop a modern medical city, Tashkent Medical Smart City, covering 400 hectares with the use of South Korean expertise, according to the results of a working visit by a regional delegation led by Governor Zoyir Mirzaev to South Korea.
In Seoul, the delegation met with representatives of South Korean company HAEAHN Architecture. The parties discussed the practical implementation of an international innovative project aimed at developing modern healthcare infrastructure in Tashkent Region.
A memorandum of cooperation on the project had previously been signed with several leading South Korean companies. Under the agreement, medical facilities as well as related social and commercial infrastructure are planned to be built on a 400-hectare site.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed an updated project concept, master plan and architectural and planning solutions.
Particular attention was paid to the creation of an integrated medical city that could include medical institutions, an international medical university, educational facilities, hotels, business and shopping centres, as well as modern residential complexes.
The parties agreed to continue work on the project in line with international standards and make extensive use of South Korean experience in architecture and urban planning. They also discussed attracting investment and creating modern infrastructure to support the development of medical tourism.
Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the need to further intensify cooperation on the Tashkent Medical Smart City project and identify the next practical steps.
