Mukhsinhuja Abdurakhmanov Appointed Head of Migration Agency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mukhsinhuja Abdurakhmanov has been appointed director of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan following a presidential decree. He replaces Behzod Musayev, who was relieved of the post due to a transfer to another position.

Abdurakhmanov was born on 14 February 1974 in the Ferghana region. Between 1991 and 1996, he studied at Tashkent State University of Economics, during which he also attended California State University, Chico, in the United States from 1994 to 1995.

From 1996 to 1998, Abdurakhmanov attended the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He subsequently pursued higher education in Japan, earning a master's degree from Otaru University of Commerce between 1998 and 2001, followed by doctoral studies at Hokkaido University from 2001 to 2004.

Abdurakhmanov worked as a manager at Coca-Cola Uzbekistan LLC from 2004 to 2006, before returning to Hokkaido University as a research fellow from 2006 to 2008. Between 2008 and 2017, he served as chief executive officer of the Japanese company MTRUST Co. Ltd.

In 2018, he was appointed deputy governor of the Ferghana region and head of its department for investments and foreign trade, positions he held until 2021. Abdurakhmanov became head of the investment department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in April 2021, and in July 2021, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan.

Abdurakhmanov speaks Russian, Tajik, English, Japanese, and Arabic. He is married and has four children.
