Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Georgia discussed new areas of cooperation in agriculture during the first meeting of the Working Group on Agricultural Issues, held via videoconference.
Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Kahramon Yuldashev, representatives of Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and specialists from relevant research institutions took part in the meeting, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture said.
The sides focused primarily on exchanging experience in livestock farming.
Participants discussed the development of the sector, cooperation between scientific research and practical applications, and the introduction of advanced practices into production.
The creation and cultivation of olive groves was also discussed. The sides reviewed Georgia’s experience, modern agrotechnologies and approaches to establishing such plantations, as well as prospects for developing scientific methods in fruit growing, vegetable production and horticulture.
Following the meeting, participants stressed the importance of consistently developing mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening existing ties and implementing new joint projects in the agricultural sector.
