Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan note importance of establishing peace in Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan stated importance of establishing peace and stabilizing situation in Afghanistan, the joint declaration of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and the President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliev, signed on 27 September, said.

Leaders of two states underlined importance of initiative on creation of effective mechanisms, targeted at boosting negotiations process on Afghanistan issue with participation of the countries of the region and international structures.

The declaration said in this context the sides underlined to rehabilitate negotiations process on Afghan problem in updated format 6+3 under the aegis of UN, which can be one of the effective mechanism for settlement of long-term conflict.
