Uzbekistan Agriculture Ministry and Pakistani Firm Agree to Cooperate
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of the Pakistani company Agha Jee Herbal World. The primary focus of the talks was the prospects for bilateral cooperation in crop cultivation and the development of traditional medicine.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed in detail opportunities to launch the production of herbal medicine products in Uzbekistan. The foreign partner expressed interest in establishing a specialized training center, a medical clinic, and manufacturing facilities in Tashkent to produce herbal medicines under its own brand.
A separate section of the negotiations focused on investment proposals from the Pakistani side to introduce new agricultural subsectors in the republic. Specifically, the investors proposed establishing the cultivation of saffron and high-quality varieties of basmati rice in the regions of Uzbekistan.
The meeting participants exchanged views on selecting the most suitable locations for implementing these projects, studied the agrotechnical requirements for cultivating these crops, and outlined potential export channels for the future yield.
Following the negotiations, the sides agreed to continue their detailed joint development of all the presented initiatives and investment projects.
