Uzbek Wrestlers Win Four Medals at U17 World Championships
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's freestyle wrestling team won four medals at the U17 World Championships being held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
During the latest day of competition, Uzbek wrestlers claimed two silver and two bronze medals.
Jakhongir Tulkunov won silver in the 55 kg weight category, while Shohiddin Aliyev finished second in the 65 kg division.
The team's bronze medals were won by Farrukh Makhmudov in the 48 kg category and Bekhruz Ashirov in the 110 kg division.
On the final day of the competition, three more Uzbek wrestlers will compete for bronze medals.
In the 45 kg category, Muhammad Rakhimjonov will face the winner of the bout between Abdunazar Batyrkanov of Kyrgyzstan and Lasha Dotiashvili of Georgia.
In the 60 kg division, Bekzodbek Ibrohimov will wrestle the winner of the match between Witold Pawlik of Poland and Mikita Kuzmenko of Ukraine for the bronze medal.
In the 71 kg category, Jaloliddin Jalolov will take on the winner of the contest between Kemryn Howard of the United States and Adilet Rysbay of Kazakhstan.
