Uzbek President fires Public Education Minister

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov exempted Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan from his duties.

According to the governmental portal Gov.uz, Minister of Public Education Avazjon Marakhimov was exempted from his position. Currently, the post is vacant.

Avazjon Marakhimov had worked as Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan since March 2010.

Prior to appointment, Marakhimov worked as deputy minister of higher and secondary special education.
