Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin within the framework of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Belarusian government conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The sides reviewed current issues related to the further development of Uzbekistan–Belarus relations in multilateral partnership, in the context of preparations for upcoming high-level events.

Special attention was given to the results of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting held in May in Tashkent Region. It was noted that the meeting was productive and contributed to advancing bilateral cooperation.

It was also reported that trade and economic ties have shown steady growth, with bilateral trade increasing by 32% since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are being implemented in agriculture, mechanical engineering, and other sectors of the economy.

The sides emphasized the importance of further expanding trade and economic cooperation, as well as strengthening cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges.
