Uzbek president congratulates François Hollande

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has sent a congratulatory note to François Hollande on the latter’s election as President of the French Republic.

François Hollande was elected President of France on 6 May 2012. During the second round of presidential elections, which was held on 6 May 2012, he collected 51.7% of the votes. Current President Nicolas Sarkozy had 48.38% of votes.

In line with agreement of teams of François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy, he will take office on May 15.
