Uzbek President appoints new Minister of Culture and Sports Affairs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appointed new Minister of Culture and Sports Affairs.

According to Gov.uz website, Tursunali Kuziev became the Minister Culture and Sports Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Prior to appointment, Tursunali Kuziev has been heading Uzbekistan Art Academy since 1997. He is member of Uzbekistan Art Academy and chairperson of Creative Union of Painters of Uzbekistan.

At this post, he replaced Anvar Jabborov, who was fired from his post in January 2011.
