Uzbek mobile operators to invest US$118m into networks development in 2012

Mobile communication operators of Uzbekistan are planning to invest over US$118 million in 2012.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2012”. In line with the document, the Government of Uzbekistan is planning to use foreign investments for US$3.198 billion in 2012.
In particular, Unitel LLC, Beeline trademark and subsidiary of Russia’s VimpelCom, is planning to direct US$63 million to network development.
Coscom LLC, Ucell trademark and part of Swedish-Finnish group TeliaSonera, will invest US$35 million to development of network in 2012.
The volume of investments of Uzdunrobita, MTS-Uzbekistan trademark and 100% subsidiary of Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems, will make u US$20 million.
