Uzbek, Azerbaijani Presidents Discuss Upcoming Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. During the call, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation and preparations for an upcoming top-level summit.

Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Uzbek leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness, new successes in state activities, and peace, well-being, and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

The presidents reviewed issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership and alliance.

The leaders noted that contacts between the two countries continue at various levels. The results of the meetings of the joint Intergovernmental Commission and Business Council, held last week in Tashkent, were noted with satisfaction.

The leaders paid special attention to preparations for the upcoming summit, emphasizing the importance of filling its economic agenda with concrete joint projects and programs.
