UNESCO hands over certificate on inclusion of Askiya to List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UNESCO handed over a certificate on inclusion of Askiya to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO.

Eric Falt, Assistant Director General of UNESCO, handed over the certificate on inclusion of Askiya, the art of wit in Uzbekistan, to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO to Minister of Culture and Sport Affair Bakhodir Akhmedov.

The ceremony of handing over certificate was held within the conference “Community of Musical Culture of the Peoples of the East”, which took place in Samarkand within the frameworks of the 10th Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival.
