UN Discusses Karakalpakstan Development in Nukus
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Nukus, the capital of Karakalpakstan, between the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbayev, and heads of United Nations agencies operating in Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the regional parliamentary leader provided detailed information on measures being implemented under presidential decrees and resolutions aimed at supporting the development of Karakalpakstan. Efforts to strengthen the region’s investment potential and create favorable conditions for entrepreneurship were highlighted.
The sides exchanged views on the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan, improvements in living standards, and future plans for regional modernization.
Special attention was given to projects implemented with the support of UN agencies in Uzbekistan, as well as initiatives funded through international grants contributing to social and economic development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, UN representatives expressed gratitude for the organization of the visit and confirmed their readiness to continue and expand cooperation with Karakalpakstan.
