UK Defence Secretary arrives in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom Philip Hammond arrives in Uzbekistan on 27 February 2012 with an official visit.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that he arrives in Tashkent to hold bilateral talks.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, trade turnover between two states made up US$177.8 million in 2011 against US$228.7 million in 2010.

Uzbekistan’s exports to the United Kingdom made up US$97.1 million (US$131.5 million in 2010) and imports – US$80.7 million (US$97.2 million).
