Tashkent Metro Studies China’s Advanced Subway Experience
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Tashkent Metro JSC is on a working visit to China to study modern technologies, equipment and metro operating practices for potential application in Tashkent, the company said.
The visit is being conducted as part of the implementation of tasks set out in Presidential Resolution No. PP-191 and is also aimed at examining advanced international solutions for metro systems and introducing modern technologies into practice.
In China, representatives of Tashkent Metro are holding meetings and technical discussions with leading metro infrastructure manufacturers, research institutions and design institutes. The delegation is focusing on the technical capabilities of equipment, its operation and maintenance, as well as the possibility of adapting Chinese solutions to the conditions of Tashkent’s subway system.
One of the technologies examined was platform screen doors (PSD). The delegation reviewed their operating principles, control systems, maintenance requirements and modern solutions designed to improve passenger safety.
The specialists also examined modern elevators and escalators, focusing on their technical characteristics, energy efficiency, safety requirements and potential to improve passenger comfort.
Another area of study was AGM rail vehicles, specialized equipment used for repair and maintenance work in metro tunnels and other technical areas. The delegation reviewed the equipment’s design features, capabilities and operating experience.
During a visit to the Shanghai Metro Design Institute, the Uzbek delegation exchanged experience in infrastructure design, engineering solutions and the development of modern metro systems. The sides also discussed ways to strengthen scientific and technical capabilities.
The delegation also studied modern metro ventilation systems used to provide air circulation in tunnels and stations, regulate microclimate conditions and improve energy efficiency.
A key part of the programme was a visit to the Shanghai Metro. Tashkent Metro representatives examined the system’s infrastructure, train operations, passenger flow management, technical maintenance and operational processes.
The visit also covers China’s experience in ensuring safety, improving passenger services and implementing modern management and engineering solutions.
Following the visit, the experience gained is expected to be used in the further development of Tashkent Metro infrastructure, the introduction of modern technologies, improvements in passenger safety and comfort, and the enhancement of Tashkent Metro JSC’s operations.
