Tashkent Hosts Conference on Alternative Tourism Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the development of alternative tourism and the prospects for introducing new tourism directions in Uzbekistan was held on 21 May 2026 at the Tashkent State Agrarian University.
The event was organized with the support of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Research Institute for Tourism Development, and the Tashkent State Agrarian University in cooperation with the international scientific journal “Science and Innovation.” The conference was held within the framework of state policy aimed at developing sustainable tourism.
The conference brought together representatives of the scientific and educational community, the tourism industry, government bodies, museums, research institutes, business structures, as well as students and young researchers. Among the participants were international experts from Türkiye, Italy, Jordan, China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and other countries.
Discussions focused on the development of geological, industrial, agricultural, astronomical and archaeological tourism as tools for diversifying tourism products, supporting sustainable regional development, and preserving natural and cultural heritage.
Special attention was given to the practical application of modern approaches in the tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as the development of entrepreneurship in the tourism industry.
It was noted that the presented scientific research and initiatives could be used to form competitive tourism products, expand services, and attract tourists and investment.
Following the conference, it is planned to prepare a scientific collection of the event’s materials.
