Tashkent city posts strong GRP growth in 2009

Gross regional product (GRP) of Tashkent city grew by 13% year-on-year in 2009, deputies of Tashkent city said in a session dedicated to 2009 results.
GRP per capita rose by 11.6% in the reporting period. Industrial output increased by 10.2%, production of consumer goods rose by 11% and the volume of construction works up 14.9%. The volume of services increased by 16.6% and exports rose by 10%.
The session said the share of industry in GRP comprised 13.6%. In 2009, about 30 industrial objects were commissioned in 2009.
Small and private businesses produced about 46.1% of GRP in 2009, UzA reported.
