Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks on 15 June with Chief Executive Officer of the UK-based International Hospitals Group (IHG) Chester King.

The discussions focused on the development of medical infrastructure and the implementation of joint healthcare projects.

The sides discussed plans to modernise and fully reconstruct the Republican Narcology Centre in the Kibray district, as well as the creation of a National Centre of Excellence in mental health and addiction treatment.

The British side presented a master plan for the future medical complex, which will integrate treatment, rehabilitation, and scientific activities. According to the concept, the facility will have a capacity of 150 beds, with potential expansion to 250.

The talks also covered project financing, institutional management models, staff training, and the introduction of international clinical standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue cooperation, further develop technical and financial aspects, and accelerate the implementation of subsequent stages of the project.
