Synthetic Drugs Seized in Tashkent Region Operations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Large batches of synthetic narcotic substances imported from abroad have been seized in the Tashkent region during operational measures. The operations were conducted by officers of the State Security Service in cooperation with customs authorities.
In one case, law enforcement detained a resident of Tashkent born in 1993, previously convicted and under probation supervision, along with his accomplice born in 1995. They were arrested while extracting 2 kilograms and 381 grams of a synthetic substance known as “Alpha-PVP” from a hidden cache located on a land plot in the Yukorichirchik district, and while attempting to leave the site.
According to the investigation, the narcotic substance was delivered to Uzbekistan from the Russian Federation by participants of an online drug market operating through the Telegram messenger.
In a separate case, it was established that two employees of a commercial bank in Yangiyul city received 485 grams of a similar synthetic substance previously hidden by drug couriers in a field area in Yangiyul district.
The suspects subsequently stored the drugs at the house of an acquaintance born in 1998.
All substances were seized as material evidence during operational measures. Criminal cases have been initiated in both incidents, and the suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention.
