Uzbeks to Have Four-Day Weekend for Independence Day
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will observe four consecutive days off from 29 August to 1 September for workers on a five-day workweek in celebration of the 35th anniversary of independence.
31 August has been declared an additional non-working day for all employees, regardless of their established workweek schedule.
This is stated in a decree by the President of Uzbekistan regarding additional non-working days and the transfer of days off in 2026.
Thus, for a five-day workweek, the days off will be Saturday 29 August, Sunday 30 August, Monday 31 August, and Tuesday 1 September.
For workers with a six-day workweek, there will be three consecutive days off from 30 August to 1 September.
Wednesday, 2 September, will be a regular working day for all employees.
